September is a special month not just for the students but also for the fashionistas. Four fashion capitals New York, Milan, London and Paris host fashion weeks. Even though I receive the invitations to many of those, I haven’t had a chance to attend yet except to London Fashion Week. This year I decided to brighten my horizons and attend another fashion week. I chose the leading fashion event in Scandinavia – Stockholm Fashion Week.
Most trendiest and interesting designers come together to the Grand Hotel to showcase their most beautiful creations for the press, bloggers and industry people. The event finish with the Fashion Night, event dedicated to fashion, shopping and fun. It is like an equivalent to London Fashion Festival or fashion nights out (that don’t happen anymore). Different stores organise shopping events with discounted shopping, beauty treatments, DJ’s and bubbles.
This season Stockholm Fashion Week saw talented designers showcasing their creations like Nand, Busnel, Filippa K, by Malina, Absolut Iconic, Soft Goat, Emelie Janrell, Jennifer Blom, Diana Orving and others.
Most shows of the Stockholm Fashion Week took place at the Spegelsalen in the Grand Hotel. I was interested in visiting this place not because it is absolutely gorgeous but also historical. I learned that it was this room where the first Nobel prize ceremony and banquet took place in 1901. Spegelsalen is now regarded as a part of Sweden’s cultural heritage.
