I was rather excited when after an amazing evening at Pizza Express in Fulham Road, I was invited to attend one more – this time to listen to live music at Pizza Express in Greenwich. My fans and friends know that music and food are my two most favorite things.

My evening started with being a bit late due to work commitments but I was not the last one. As soon as all bloggers and Instagrammers arrived our evening started. We enjoyed the delicious drinks and snacks. It was good to see guys bloggers. Most of the time only girls attend events like these.

Live Music

Live music started soon. Darren Campbell performed covers of popular songs and few original songs. Darren has an incredibly strong and beautiful voice but I was a bit disappointed with his choice of the songs. He performed the most popular that people listened to many times, like for example Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. I think Darren Campbell could choose more interesting and less known songs. Or maybe he could choose the songs that were almost forgotten but people would be happy to remember them.

Delicious Food

Pizza Express is one of my most favorite places to eat and I am always happy to try something new. For the starters, we had Classic Italian Antipasto – choice of Italian meat like Finnochiona, Coppa, Milano salami and Calabrese sausage with olives, artichoke, roasted tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella. There was also sweat Peppadew peppers and dough baked with Gran Milano cheese, accompanied by garlic butter and pestorissa, a harissa spiced tomato dip. Last time I had pizza, so for the main course this time I chose Bolognese Rigatoni made of a rich beef, porcini mushroom, tomato and red wine Bolognese, with gluten-free rigatoni, finished with Gran Milano cheese and fresh basil.

I have to admit, I was tempted to try dessert and my choice was Sticky Toffee Bundt cake. It is one of the new desserts Pizza Express is offering to its customers. It is made of warm toffee sponge cake with a sticky toffee sauce, baked in our oven and served with salted caramel gelato, icing sugar, and fresh mint.

Visiting Pizza Express

I had a perfect evening visiting Pizza Express in Greenwich. The place was cute and well planned. From our table, we were able to see the stage well and to hear Darren Campbell performing nicely. The sound system didn’t annoy how it usually does in the most places that pretend to be live music venues.  I believe I will come back here again for live music and delicious food. Check Pizza Express website when they will have live music again.
