Richmond is one of the most beautiful London’s locations. On hot and sunny Sunday I went there to spend an afternoon and to try some crepes at the newly opened creperie ‘Cinq Maisons’. The owner and chef Lithuanian Judita Cizeikaite fulfilled her dream to work for herself and to make people enjoy delicious French crepes.
Creperie is located at Brewers Lane which is a walking distance from the Richmond station as well as from the river. It serves sweet & savory crepes, salads, delicious homemade lemonade and one of the best coffees I ever had a chance to try. So it’s a perfect place to pop in for a quick lunch or a delicious treat on Sunday before enjoying time by the river.
For me, it was a Sunday treat so I decided to choose crepe ‘La Canelle’ with apples & cinnamon. Made with only fresh products from scratch, it was very delicious and full-filling. If you fancy something different, you can choose classic crepe with sugar, lemon, and butter. They also serve crepes with Nutella, white chocolate, strawberry jam, seasonal berries. Don’t forget to ask for a scoop of ice cream on a hot day.
If you are not a big fan of sweet crepes, choose the savory one. Next time I am planning to try with chicken, mushrooms, and cheese. There are options with ham, salmon and cream cheese, ham, fried egg. Vegetarians can enjoy crepes with feta cheese, spinach, tomato, and pesto or mixed peppers, spinach and cheese. Don’t forget to order a homemade lemonade. It’s delicious and refreshing.
Richmond is a perfect place for nature lovers. You can enjoy walking by the river or exploring the park. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable, perfect to spend the day with children and animals. You can reach Richmond easily from central London taking a train or District Line.
